Andys Church

Lovely place visited a while back, I’m going to point out that whilst I am not religious myself I am fascinated by the history and the different styles of architecture, the craftsmanship and the sheer size of these buildings. Many are not maintained like they used to be and are laying vacant, dusty and decaying silently whilst the world carries on.

This church is OLD! its built on the ruins of one of the largest roman settlements in the UK, built in Saxon times which i think is around 400-just after 1000 and has been enlarged and modified through the ages. There are tombs of someone how must have had a lot of power and influence at the time as he has a rather large lifelike figures on the tombs of the person himself his wife and opposite his daughter and her husband.
